RANGER Non Magnetic Collar Sensing Single Shot Tool
In its quest to continue developing and producing user-friendly products, RANGER introduces the new RANGER Non Magnetic Collar Sensing Single Shot tool (RANGER NMC).
The new RANGER NMC incorporates a Ranger survey instrument and a Timer/Sensing Module with a large LCD display and simple 3 button operation system.
During the process of operation, the Timer/sensing Module describes and displays its actions on the LCD Screen, keeping the operator informed to the status of the survey until its final survey results are established.
To operate the system the tool is turned on and the sensing mode actuated. The Tool is then assembled into its protective running gear and lowered to the top of the bit. Once the sensor enters the Non Magnetic Collar it automatically senses the change in magnetic nature of the collars and switches to survey mode. Once the survey is completed (a maximum of 90 seconds) it automatically turns off to conserve power. The system is raised to the surface and the tool removed from the running gear for data collection.
Results are displayed on the LCD screen with 2 rows of information enabling the operator to see at a glance, azimuth and inclination, plus quality checking magnetic intensity and magnetic dip information.
The Total results produced when taking a survey include measurements for Azimuth, Inclination, Magnetic Intensity, Magnetic Dip, Gravity Roll, Magnetic Tool Face, Gravity Intensity, Temperature and Timer settings.
The RANGER NMC tool assembly comprises 2 separately powered modules, measuring tool and timer/sensor, both with an estimated 2 year battery life.
Once the tool is assembled there is no need to dis-assemble, securing the tool from un-necessary damage or wear and tear.
